I can't quite finish this thought properly. Maybe it'll develop more later on. I can't think of many of the forgettable movies.
The U.S. makes a lot of bad art for adolescents. It fools itself into believing that the things that become most important are the ones that matter. So we fall into believing that the coming of age story is the truest story (it is, but later).
Good art made for adolescents has a single defining positive trait: friendships. Maybe the correct word is bonds. I really started to understand this when I watched the LOTR trilogy. It was true for Bridge to Terabithia. Toy Story. There are tons of exceptions. (grateful)
It's very overt in Japanese art.
And these bonds are always chosen.
I think I very much like this.
