Wire talk

I was listening to this bloggingheads discussion earlier and they eventually got on the topic of The Wire. I watched that show a bit, but, eventually I fell off the wagon. Anyway, the discussion was pitch-perfect. And I want to tell you why.

They got it. The show had shown them it. What it is tends to be kind of vague. An understanding that artifice is and will always be artifice. No matter how impressive it seems, no matter how overpowering it tends, no matter! It will always fall away. There is this it underneath that.

The first time I experienced this happened when I was trying to rectify communism with morality. We couldn't be communists unless we changed our baseline morality. No matter how powerful this institution, our tacit, collective will to nature would bring it down.

It is why I struggle with law and have an interest in it.

It is why I find a majority of my relationships to be too fragile.

It is out there.

I most certainly overused the evocation it here. Apologies.
