About a month and a half ago when I had vague academic ambitions for a couple of weeks (can't remember why), I thought up a theory of altruistic behavior. It had things to do with natural selection (on the order of societies) and social liquidity in dynamic situations. I was going to learn a lot about the history of altruism research, etc. and try to get myself published. Then I realized I was in a terrible position to do this and I moved on.
Today, I read about a famous biologist deciding that what I was thinking seemed true. Why can't I be original?
