I'm reading After the Quake, one story a night. it's consistently enjoyable to read this slowly.

I'm beginning to doubt how many authors I've actually read and if I can make it a whole year. I've got a list of about 10 of my favorites. Will I actually have an authentic reaction to Eudora Welty? Iris Murdoch? JM Coetzee? We'll see.
