Why I like Julie Doiron

This one has taken me several months to figure out. I've listened to Woke Myself Up (the album) about a dozen times and never feel like I've got it figured out. There's always something I miss.

I drift off in the middle of it and later realize I missed some important truth. I think that's essential to its effectiveness. The interesting musical things are so fragmented. They're so separated and distinct. It's not at all a narrative. The important truth is to be missed. When I finally discover it (if I do) it will undoubtedly be diminished.

She sounds a lot like Thrill-era Eleni Mandell. Tasty.

To do this week:
1: Apply for 5 jobs online.
2: Delete my Myspace.
3: Restrict my Facebook privileges.
4: See 5 movies
5: Call several (at least 2) places about jobs.
